Quest for the Source of Darkness
***Review by Thomas Cirignano: Author of The Constant Outsider

Being a life long non-fiction reader, I was very hesitant to even start reading another work of fiction. But, after hearing good things about this book, I decided to give fantasy one more chance. I was relieved when I realized I had made a good choice. There were surprises that got my adrenaline pumping, which is a key ingredient to a good read for me.

It didn't take me long to be drawn into several of the complex and interesting characters. Soon, I found myself anxious to see how certain relationships would evolve, and curiosity took over. I had to find out more about their mysterious pasts.

The message of the book is very real and relevant to real life, which is another reason why I was pleasantly surprised.

This is just one more example of why one should "never say never." There are exceptions to every rule, and the fact that I looked forward to every page of this story is proof of that. The characters, story line, and extremely imaginative writing did not disappoint me!

The Fortress of Darkness
The elf prince Danyl vanquished the demon Mahn with the elven magic, the Green Might, more than two hundred fifty years ago, but that did not destroy the demon's black power. The sole surviving Vox, named Emhella, collects the scattered remnants of Mahn's dark force while the Races, once united, pay little heed to one another. Emhella combines his own brand of evil energy with Mahn's black magic, thereby becoming even more formidable than his predecessor was. All he needs to become invincible are the three most potent powers in the land plus the Riannian, the original magic from which all others originated. Transported over the massive mountains in the north by wraiths, a group of unsuspecting mortals is burdened with the immense responsibility of saving the land. The Keeper of the Elements, a dragon born with the land, gives them an ambiguous command: search for the other powers and for Varek-Tor, the fortress of darkness.

The Edge of Darkness
Taman, the Keeper of Darkness, stands watch over the mysterious current flowing beneath the wreckage of Varek-Tor, the fortress of darkness. Undisturbed and nearly forgotten for five years, Taman's shadowy realm is suddenly invaded by an unknown magic. The enigmatic waters react to this threat, revealing the assault by the Garzin, brutal intruders led by a winged demon. Something else is divulged as well, something even the erudite Taman can barely fathom. While the Keeper of Darkness witnesses the elves' journey to Bystyn centuries ago, the elves, dwarves, men and rock lords are forced to contend with the menace sweeping across the land in the present. The inhabitants of the land must band together to strike back might.

Old Gooseberry's Dilemma
***Review by Author Brian R. Hill (Yorkshire UK)

How does the Devil keep the Dean brothers out of Hell, especially as Heaven has no desire to host them? While Archangels keep watch, the Devil lurches from one crisis to another. Old Gooseberry's Dilemma is funny and entertaining, a story about human nature and the perils of unearthly meddling. The result is an ending that takes all participants by surprise.

This is Pat Perry's first comedy and it will keep you reading page after page.

Books by Alberta Sequeira
A Healing Heart
***Review by Gail Brazil, Topsfield, MA-Reader

I found myself unable to put this book down. Through all the author's experiences from dealing with her father's sickness and ultimate passing to her pilgrammage to Medjugorje, I felt as if I were right there with her.

Her writing style puts the reader right where she is so you actually feel her pain with her father's passing yet at the same time you can feel her faith renew itself and blossom.

Medjugorje was a wonderful experience for me, although I have only been there through reading this book. The humbleness of the people of Bosnia and the way they open their hearts to strangers made me feel humble as well. What links these residents with the pilgrams is a mutual faith in God who is willing to show us Miracles so that we may Believe and Trust.

After reading her book, maybe we can just slow down for a moment and contemplate what is really important to us in our own worlds...the people in our lives whom we love and care about and a God who will never abandon us.

Thank you Alberta for helping me strengthen my own Faith.~

Someone Stop This Merry-Go-Round
***Review by Meme
I couldn't put this book down. I have been unable to read a complete book for the last 8 years and this one I couldn't put down. Not only is it an easy read but anyone who has been in an alcoholic marriage will find comfort in this. This is not a self help book but it gives you the realization that someone else has felt exactly what you felt and you were not crazy.

Please, God, Not Two
***Review by William R. Potter for Reader's Choice Book Reviews

This sequel to Someone Stop this Merry-Go-Round now turns into the emotional memoir Please God, Not Two: This Killer Called Alcoholism which details the tortured life of a mother coming to terms with the fact her daughter is following in her father's deadly footsteps.

As a parent, I couldn't imagine the distress of witnessing one of my children battle this addiction. Sequeira did so knowing full well what was waiting for her daughter if Lori's rehab stints were unsuccessful. Any parent would feel guilt for not noticing the signs of alcoholism sooner and Sequeira fully admits her mistakes and regrets. Creating this memoir could not have been easy and I commend Sequeira's courage for writing so soon after Lori's death.

Please God, Not Two works as a stand alone, however I recommend you read it and the prequel together to obtain full effect of this poignant story. This is a candid look into alcoholism. Sequeira makes no excuses for herself or for her daughter. She writes with the best of intentions--to help others struggling to save a family member caught in the relentless grip of this disease. The information is well presented and Sequeira's experiences are described with a desperate honesty that will have you reaching for tissues in many scenes.

ld heart of a 1932 New England winter, Madeline visits her oldest and closest friend who resides directly across the lake, just over the ampshire border from Vermont.

Celia is seriously ill and seems walled away from the reality by several people who have seemingly won her confidence: Matthias, a lawyer; David,a writer; and the very attractive Mira, playing the unlikely role of nurse. Celia’s one protector appears to be the loyal but hapless handyman Georgie.

Celia soon dies, and Madeline’s every instinct cries out foul play. She vows never to rest until the truth of her friend’s death is revealed.

Matthias in particular is in her sights. Money inherited from Celia is funding his ambitions to win election along with the upstart Democrat running for the presidency, Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Madeline, in her zeal, cannot imagine the series of events she will set into motion—or how drastically they will alter the lives of every single person in Celia’s house that fateful day of Madeline’s visit.  Winter Kill is the story you have been waiting to read. A compelling tale finely written. Spun out and suspenseful, unpredictable, thought-provoking and unforgettable style.
